After a run of bad luck, unemployed John (Bill Murray - Space Jam) convinces his best friend Russell (Harold Ramis - Baby Boom) that they should enlist in the army, saying that it will be like a holiday whilst they get in shape. But smart-ass John soon gets on the wrong side of drill sergeant Hulka (Warren Oates) and somehow becomes the unofficial leader of the platoon full of misfits and losers.
