White Chicks (2004) starring Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans

Wayans Men Wear Prada

Brothers and FBI agents Kevin and Marcus Copeland (Shawn and Marlon Wayans) mess up big time on a drugs bust and become a disgrace to he agency. In order to try and make amends they are sent to provide security for the Wilson sisters, spoilt heiress's who believe they are to be subject of a kidnapping. When the sisters suffer minor injuries they decide they can't go to a society bash so the brothers decide to call in the experts and go deep under cover deep under layers of white latex to pretend to be the sisters.

So we have two things going on in "White Chicks" a simple crime story featuring two bungling FBI agents trying to foil a kidnapping. And then there is the joke surrounding the Wayan's brothers donning laytex to pretend to be two spoilt white girls. Both of these have been done before with Eddie Murphy having made the whole laytex thing his own long before the Wayan brothers came along.

Aside from those two obvious ideas we get the just as obvious idea that dudes masquerading as girls and hanging out with other girls will make them see life differently. But really what we get a lot of is just dumb ass jokes from the intial drugs bust going wrong to a car crash scene involving a little dog and an open window. Look, comedy is a personal taste, what I find amusing others won't and what others find funny I won't, it's why some people thought "Freddy Got Fingered" was great whilst I though it was terrible. As such the comedy in "White Chicks" was not for me and was lame but for those amused by daft gags will find it amusing.

What this all boils down to is that "White Chicks" was not for me and barely made me smile once. But for those amused by the idea of the Wayan brotherss pretending to be two white chicks and giving it attitude will probably find it fun.
