Paranormal Activity 2 (2010)

Little Activity

Daniel and Kristi have brought their new son home to their new home in Carlsbad but after a few days discover what appears to have been a break in. It is why they fork out for security cameras so that if anything happens again they might be able to catch the criminals. But they also hire a Spanish speaking nanny who gets a sense that there is something wrong with their home and despite Daniel not being religious starts praying. But a lot more strange things start to happen which leads to Ali suspecting their house may be a hot bed of paranormal activity.

Looking back at what I said about the first "Paranormal Activity" and much of what I said about the first movie I can repeat here as the whole faux reality thing with lack of a real storyline did nothing for me again and in truth found it so tedious that I came close to quitting on it. Thankfully the whole handheld side of these POV movies is kept to the minimum with a lot of the movie using CCTV footage.

But that kind of leads me to what the problem is with "Paranormal Activity 2" because trying to be fly on the wall gets tedious very quickly when nothing much happens and when it does it is minor things which you really need to look closely at to spot, such as toddler in a crib slowly sliding along. Yes eventually things do start to happen but to be honest by the time the paranormal stuff started to really kick off I was almost kipping, it is that tedious.

What this all boils down to is that "Paranormal Activity 2" didn't do it for me and found this a real slow, slog of a movie. I am sure there will be some who will find this a lot more enthralling than I did especially those who enjoy the whole faux reality experience.
