Abigail Hardingham in Nina Forever (2015)

And Nina Makes Three

When the love of his life, Nina (Fiona O'Shaughnessy), died in a car crash her boyfriend Rob (Cian Barry) tried to take his own life a couple of times as he felt he had nothing to live for. That didn't put of Holly (Abigail Hardingham), a co-worker at a supermarket, and despite Rob's initial reluctance they end up becoming a couple. Trouble is that when ever they head to the bedroom a third party joins them as Nina returns from beyond the grave to sarcastically interfere in their love lives. The question is whether or not Holly and Rob can work together to get passed the third person in their relationship.

Before I go one let me ask a question: Would a scene of two people having sex on a grave be too distasteful for you? If the answer is yes then I should warn you that you might find various scenes in "Nina Forever" too distasteful but if you do choose to skip this movie you will miss some genuinely funny scenes. Many of those funny scenes do feature the arrival of Nina caked in blood just whilst Bob and Holly are getting their freak on but credit where it is due these scenes which feature nudity and sex are not titillation but actually push your acceptance whilst making you laugh, well come on getting it on with a dead woman whilst your new boyfriend watches is certainly not viewing for all the family.

But whilst "Nina Forever" was an entertaining experience which I doubt I will forget in a hurry it is a movie which kind of lost me. That came from how the movie plays out as Holly does everything she can to get rid of Nina but finds herself unable to. Maybe I missed some thing but it didn't make sense to me how the movie ended although it certainly wasn't what I was expecting.

Aside from that I do have to say the make up and special effects department did a brilliant job throughout the movie with Nina being not so much scary but just the right amount of bloody. And I also have to say that Abigail Hardingham is one likeable actress and has this wonderful every day, girl next door quality which is perfect for the role of Holly in this.

What this all boils down to is that "Nina Forever" won't be for everyone as whilst it is a horror comedy there are some scenes which push the boundaries of taste. But it is certainly entertaining and is not some thing you will quickly forget after watching.
