Zach Cregger and Trevor Moore in Miss March (2009)

You Can Miss This

Whilst his best friend Tucker (Trevor Moore) has always been a bit of a sex dog, Eugene (Zach Cregger) has remained celibate who along with his sweetheart Cindi (Raquel Alessi) have agreed to wait until they are married. Well Cindi can't wait and convinces Eugene that they should have sex after prom which he reluctantly agrees to only to end up falling down a flight of stairs before it happens and spending the next 4 years in coma. Having come to and discovering that only Tucker has stuck around he is even more shocked when Tuckers reveals that Cindi has become a Playboy centre fold and will be at the Playboy mansion for the anniversary party. With a few romantic issues of his own to deal with Tucker grabs Eugene and they head on a road trip to the mansion to find Cindi.

A sex comedy featuring a virgin and a road trip, jeez that has never been done before! But then I suppose lack of originality is not high up on the list of what is important to those who would not only watch "Miss March" to be entertained but who finish it thinking it was a great or even a good movie. It delivers exactly what you would expect from this sort of movie, a simple storyline, plenty of nudity and sex jokes and a lot of set piece scenes.

The thing is that there comes a time in every movie fan's life that they realise that what once entertained now is shown up for the shallow experience that it is. Now I learned a long time before I watched "Miss March" that my days of enjoying teen sex comedies were numbered and as such I wasn't in the least bit surprised when I found it a real struggle which was short on the laughs and nudity which felt like it had just been tossed in there.

What this all boils down to is that "Miss March" will probably entertain those who are 15 and sneak off in to their bedroom of an evening with a box of tissues. But for those who have passed their teenage years the chances are there is little to entertain in this.
