Little Going On
Having just been released from prison, the diminutive but tough Calvin (Marlon Wayans) quickly gets back to work using his lack of stature to his advantage to pull of robberies. But after stealing a diamond from a jewellery shop for Walken (Chazz Palminteri) a mobster he ends up ditching it in a bag belonging to Vanessa (Kerry Washington) as he eludes the pursuing police. Now Calvin has to retrieve the diamond and so masquerades as a baby left on her and her husband Darryl's (Shawn Wayans) doorstep.
So the joke is you have Marlon Wayans as the diminutive Calvin something which appears to have been achieved via various tricks, from over sized sets to his face being super imposed on the body of another actor. And that for the grand total of a minutes is amusing unfortunately there is another 97 minutes to endure and I do mean endure as we get one moronic joke after another as Calvin has to endure being babied which acting like a little thug. How moronic? A dog peeing in a face, bad musicians and Calvin trying to force Vanessa's head down when she is blowing raspberries on his stomach none of which brings a smile on your face.
What this all boils down to is that "Littleman" is a poor movie and the worst thing is that it is no surprise going on the Wayans' track record. But as such "Little Man" is clearly a movie for those who enjoy the Wayans brand of comedy.
