The Raped Crusader
It's been 5 years since her horrific rape ordeal and whilst having moved cities and changed her name Jennifer Hills (Sarah Butler) is still tormented by what happened to her, suffering flashbacks of her rape but also daytime fantasies where she exacts revenge on any man she feels threatened by. It is how she ends up attending a self help group for those who are victims of rape and making a new friend in Marla (Jennifer Landon). But when Marla is murdered it causes Jennifer to take matters in to her own hands and hunt down those responsible even if her actions mean that not even the law will side with her for her actions.
Do you fancy watching 90 minutes of a woman both fantasizing about getting extreme bloody vengeance and then actually getting extreme bloody vengeance because that is what "I Spit on Your Grave 3: Vengeance Is Mine" is all about. Okay so we are given the back stories with Jennifer making friends with another young woman who was raped and we see how that friend, Marla, helps Jennifer take control of her life but this is all about the graphic revenge violence. That ranges from fantasy violence as Jennifer dreams of attacking people to eventually hurting people for real whilst at the same time finding herself dealing with Detective McDylan who is investigating Marla's death.
The thing is that whilst "I Spit on Your Grave 3: Vengeance Is Mine" doesn't have a great deal of storyline and even less character depth the graphic nature of it is nicely put together. As such we have scenes of snappy violence which as I keep mentioning borders on fantasy like as we watch Jennifer kick butt with the use of weapons and becoming a lethal, tooled up killing machine in the process. Trust me when I say some of the things which we witness will make you shudder.
What this all boils down to is that "I Spit on Your Grave 3: Vengeance Is Mine" does what it does quite well. The thing is that what it does is simply graphic violence and there is little in the way of character depth or storyline.
