No Spitting For Me
Having been told that she has the right look Katie (Jemma Dallender) arranges to have some photos taken which doesn't go well when the photographer requests she takes off her clothes and Katie refuses. But that is nothing to when a short while later she finds herself kidnapped, raped and tortured. Despite being violently beaten Katie finds the strength to not only escape when the opportunity arises but to then find the strength to take revenge on those who hurt her.
I wasn't a fan of the first "I Spit on Your Grave" I felt it was horribly out of balance and focused far too long on the suffering of its victim before delivering the revenge part almost like it was an after thought. As such I will admit I had second thoughts as to whether or not to watch this sequel and sadly having sat through "I Spit on Your Grave 2" I wish I hadn't although I will say right now it is on par with the first movie so if you enjoyed the violence of "I Spit on Your Grave" you are likely to enjoy this.
Now "I Spit on Your Grave 2" is a simple enough movie as the basic premise is a woman ends up being a victim of torture and rape before after a few twists sets about exacting her revenge. Now some of those twists are more surprising than others whilst some are so frequently used in horror movies that you would have thought any one in trouble would never trust a man in uniform. The trouble is that just when you begin to think that maybe they solved the balance issue which affected the movie the same issue reoccurs and "I Spit on Your Grave 2" sails extremely close to the wind as a movie for those who get their kicks from violence towards women.
What this all boils down to is that "I Spit on Your Grave 2" was as I mentioned on par with the first movie and as such it didn't work for me as at times was an uncomfortable experience.
