Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015)

A Cold Hot Tub

After changing their presents when they accidentally went to the past Lou and Nick are living it large whilst Jacob, well he is just living. When Lou's arrogant ways catch up with him and he ends up in trouble Nick and Jacob fire up the hot tub time machine to go back to the past to find a way of saving Lou. But the guys discover that instead of going to the past they find themselves 10 years in the future where an encounter with the repairman makes them believe someone from the future travelled back in time. Believing the assassin is Adam they go looking for him only to find his son, Adam Jr,.

I wonder whether than they finished making the first "Hot Tub Time Machine" they had a pile of gags left over and thought lets make another. The trouble is that it feels like the writers of "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" basically sat down and wrote as many crude gags that they could, then they delved into the movie world to find some time travelling movie references they could throw in and then forgot all about coming up with one storyline to string it all together. As such what this ends up is a series of gags which are of course on the puerile side, okays some of them made me laugh but at times I began to question what was funny about some of the gags.

I tell you what else lets "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" down and that is no John Cusack. Yes we get Adam Scott instead but it isn't the same and unfortunately the combo of Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke along with their characters ends up at times becoming annoying.

What this all boils down to is that "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" probably might amuse an audience who just want crude gags and find dick jokes really funny. But for me I needed something other than one crude jokes after another.
