Another Hatchet Job

Having watched as a chainsaw sliced Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder) clean in two, a blood soaked Marybeth Dunstan (Danielle Harris) makes her way to the police station where she is arrested and Sheriff Fowler (Zach Galligan) sends out a clean up team to the swamps to see if what she says is true. What they discover is utter carnage with mutilated bodies every where and what Marybeth discovers from Victor Crowley expert Amanda Perlman (Caroline Williams) is that she didn't kill Crowley as he is already dead and will come back to life to finish off the job he started unless Marybeth finishes the job she started.

The story so far: I am still yet to watch "Hatchet", I have watched "Hatchet II" and did not think much of it and have now watched "Hatchet III" and guess what, still didn't think much of it. But I can say right off the bat; if you enjoyed the insanity which was "Hatchet II" you are probably going to enjoy this third movie and even more so if you remember "Gremlins" because then you can spot Zach Galligan and think about how much he has aged since he hung out with Gizmo.

But this is my review and I will keep things short as we have a manufactured story which allowed for Victor Crowley to return from the dead, some back story which isn't overly interesting and then a lot of comical slaughtering and special effects such as an array of men's balls hanging from trees. But again this gore comedy is not overly comical and I can count on one hand the number of scenes which amused me.

What this all boils down to is that "Hatchet III" is on the same level as its previous movie and as such it is an acquired taste. But I would imagine those who like comedy gore horror movies may find it a lot more entertaining than I did.
