Age of Nothing
Things are going to get seriously frosty in the Middle East when the Arabian tectonic plates running down the middle of the Red Sea shift causing massive tremors and Earthquakes. But this sudden shift is also creating an immediate shift in the temperature which means not only do those in the area have to worry about the threat of lava but also the dropping temperatures which will be unsurvivable when night falls. In the midst of this is the Jones family who having gone to see the pyramids must make their way to safety.
For the briefest of moments I thought that "Age of Ice" might be passable with an opening scene of fighter planes flying low over water and running in to difficulties when the air over a cold patch causes them to crash into a Navy vessel. In truth it wasn't the most believable of scenes but I have watched a lot worst when it comes to these types of disaster movies distributed by The Asylum.
But after that reasonable opening scene the focus shifts from the sea to the Middle East and the ridiculously stupid Jones family as they are looking around a pyramid when the tremors strike. What follows is utterly pointless as we watch them attempt to make it to safety with the aid of a mysterious local man who just happens to have some major connections. In truth by this point which was about 30 minutes in to the movie I had given up on caring because everything about "Age of Ice" sucked. Basically it is a totally uninteresting movie with the routine poor special effects and such wonders as cars supposedly driving in the rain except no one was using wipers.
What this all boils down to is "Age of Ice" is officially one of the worst movies I have ever encountered and other than the briefly promising opening there is nothing else worthy of any praise. Even for those who enjoy bad movies "Age of Ice" comes up well short of the mark.
