Whilst travelling back to New York from Europe on a cruise, Nickie Ferrante (Cary Grant - To Catch a Thief) meets the lovely Terry McKay (Deborah Kerr - Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison) a night club singer. As they spend time together aboard the cruise they start too fall in love. But it is complicated, as they are both involved with people back in New York.
