Tinker Bell (2008)

Tink the Beginning

As a young fairy Tinker Bell learns that her special fairy talent is to be a tinker. But for Tinker Bell her talents don't seem as special as those of her friends who put dew drops on webs and it makes her feel sad. So when she decides to try and be like her friends her attempts only end up causing disaster. But fortunately Tinker has great friends who open her eyes to how important she is and so are her talents if she remains true to herself.

To tell you the truth "Tinker Bell" is actually the third movie in the franchise I have watched and whilst you can actually watch the later ones first of course it helps to watch "Tinker Bell" first as it is very much an introduction to the character of Tinker Bell and the land of the fairies with all its creativity. And it is that creativity, the use of drops of water to make lenses in glasses to the natural hollowed out branch to make a chute which makes you smile. Actually also the range of amusing characters and also attractive ones which also makes you smile and whether this is right or wrong it has to be said that Tinker Bell is drawn with curves in the right places to make even those who begrudgingly watch this sit up and pay attention.

Of course I probably should mention that "Tinker Bell" is an animation which aims to teach a lesson as Tinker learns to be true to herself rather than trying to be something she isn't. But it is a simple theme pleasantly explored. In truth I would rather mention the animation work as the artists involved in this have put a lot of detail in to each scene but not to the point of going for too much realism and it gives "Tinker Bell" than nicely animated look which has a mix of the modern but with a touch of classic Disney about it.

What this all boils down to is that "Tinker Bell" is a lot of fun even for those who it wasn't intended for thanks to the pleasant mix of comedy, characters and the animation work which combined puts a smile on your face.
