Breaking Yawn

Having got married Bella and Edward decide that Bella should wait till after the honeymoon to change but despite Jacob's anger do the unthinkable which is to consummate their marriage. And it has a bad outcome as Bella ends up pregnant but with something inside her which is not only a danger to her but also to the Wolf Pack who decide that Bella must die before she gives birth. It leaves Jacob isolated from his kin as he sides with Bella, Jacob and the Cullens in order to protect her.

I feel it is only fair that I should apologise to those who love the "Twilight" movies because what I am about to say will offend; rarely have I been so bored when watching a movie than when I watched "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1". Right from the word go this fourth movie in the franchise struggled to entertain me with a prolonged build up surrounding the wedding of Bella and Edward. It went on and on and on with just a couple of entertaining scenes in the whole build up both revolving around Billy Burke as Charlie. I suppose for those who got lost in the whole romance of Bella and Edward it must have been a magnificent sight to see them head down the aisle surrounded by tree blossom but it was friggin boring.

But then we get the melodrama of Bella carrying the spawn of Edward which ends up being a danger to just about everyone; from eating Bella away on the inside to the Wolf Pack who fear it for a reason which I am sure is never explained. It doesn't matter if it was because all that matters is that it gives us Bella in danger and more conflict between Jacob and Edward who form an unlikely alliance to protect Bella. All of which is mildly more exciting than the first half but still an over the top yawn fest with a graphic birth scene being about as good as it gets. In fairness the make up team who made Kristen Stewart look ill did a good job of making her skeletal but jeez it was complete and utter tosh.

What this all boils down to is that I really did not enjoy "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" and found it a dull movie from start to finish. In fairness I am not a huge fan of the "Twilight" movies and if you enjoyed the previous ones then this will rock but it is only for those who absolutely loved those first few movies.
