Heidi's Horror

Lisa (Abigail Spencer) and Andy Wyrick (Chad Michael Murray) along with their daughter Heidi (Emily Alyn Lind) move into a historic home in Georgia where they are soon joined by Lisa's laid back sister Joyce (Katee Sackhoff). But they also soon become aware that not only is their home full of history going back to the days of slavery but Heidi has started encountering ghosts. As more and more strange things start happen in and around their home the Wyrick's get drawn deeper and deeper in to the home's unsettling history which seems hell bent on making them part of it.

"The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia" is based on a true story and when the credits roll at the end of the movie we get to learn all about the real family whose experiences this movie is based upon. And do you know what, being based on a true story is what will make this movie for you as this is more likely to appeal to those who like reading up on various supernatural events and enjoy seeing those stories being dramatised. And in fairness the story does seem to have a few twists to make it interesting.

Abigail Spencer and Katee Sackhoff in The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia (2013)

But if the true story on which "The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia" is of no real interest to you then this horror movie is going to be a pretty routine walk in to the world of the super natural. As such I could list of all the familiar elements you will find in the movie from a child seeing ghosts to some thing happening to a family pet. Yes all these elements are nicely put together but it is cliche as is most of the acting from a spooky old man to an innocent child. The thing is that when taken just as a horror movie it does build to an action packed and to be honest very visual climax with plenty of graphic horror for those who were watching just for the in your face horror.

What this all boils down to is that "The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia" is just an okay horror movie for those who watch purely for the horror elements. But then maybe this will be more interesting for those who have an interest in the story on which it was based.
